I know that there are far more important things going on in the world today, but this short list caught my attention. I have had CNN and BBC News hanging out on my toolbar all day long and happened to notice this link on CNN's main to the Sports Illustrated site and was reminded why sports can be great. People have told me that sports are stupid and that people are wasting their time getting excited about a game. They may have a point...Especially with our bobblehead selling, performance enhancing, over sponsored and over produced televised spectacles. Then I read this short list of the top five NFL training camps. I realized that these nay sayers are wrong. They are either bitter ex-fans, whose favorite teams lost site of their fans base or my favorite type of people - those who think that their personal priorities should be society's priority.
Oh, and my Steelers made the top of the list. Actually both Pennsylvania teams made the list. The Bills just lost out, but were beaten by Carolina. In the words of Bill Cowher, "Four weeks of being together, no distractions, everything within walking distance. Nothing but football. Nothing." The single minded pursuit of excellence will always attract attention. Even if it is a silly game.
