At least Obi Wan has cool hair.

Here's a bunch -- and I mean a sizeable bunch -- of pictures from Episode III. Whereas I was upset at my lack of will power to resist seeing the Hitchiker's trailer, I couldn't care less about ruining Episode III. And these pictures give away a lot. And, admittedly, my love of Star Wars -- which had been shrivelled to the size of a rancid chick pea, like so many of my friends -- still wants to be there opening night. *sigh* Damn you, George Lucas, damn you.

Vote for your favorite crazy ace

JOANNA found these great comic covers from days gone by, and I can't help but think we here at GCI have done each of these as an improv scene at one point or another...

If a couple should happen to expire in the rescuing of your friend

This is what I wish I was doing with my spare time.

Sometimes you have to go a very long way...

JOANNA is directing myself and ADAM in Edward Albee's Zoo Story for her senior prah-jek out at SUNY Brockport. I'm Jerry. ADAM is Peter. Come out and see it -- April 4th in the Blackbox at Brockport. If you cheer, JO gets an automatic A+.

Alkaline vs Lithium.

Last night we had a great, fun time hannlin' up on some bidness with U of R's In Between the Lines improv troupe at their IMPROV CHUTNEY. And you need the juggling troupe at your next function or Subway opening. Good stuff all around, Thanks, IBTL!

After the show, PAUL was hoping to get some pictures of the party we were enjoying at the Drama House. I pulled out my camera and turned it on for him, and the batteries were already low...is it me, or do alkaline batteries not last a zillionth as long as the lithium batteries in digital cameras? Whatever. NELS took a bunch of pictures, so we'll get up here sometime soon. Hopefully.

This morning I woke up with a nose bleed. The ghosts of improv past, punishing me for my lousy Southern Sheriff character at Improv Chutney? Or too dry in my apartment? Whatever the case, it was cured with a trip to Strindberg.

GCI invades the University of Roc-city!

On Saturday, February 19 at 8:00pm four members of Geva Comedy Improv will take the stage in a feat so amazing that you'll be jonsin' for some dairy.

TIM, JOSIE, PAUL and the 2005 Micetro Champion ADAM will be performing as the special guest of In Between The Lines (U of R's award winning improv troupe).

The show will be held in the May Room of Wilson Commons at the University of Rochester. Tickets are available at the door for $2.

That's right, only $2. It will be the cheapest laugh that you have all weekend.

Curiosity killed my imagination.

All right, so I wasn't too stressed when I found out that Martin Freeman was playing Arthur Dent in the forthcoming HITCHHIKER'S GUIDE TO THE GALAXY. For crying out loud, he played Tim in The Office. But after years and years of hearing friends tell me I'd like the book, I figured I should read it before I see the movie, so that, even for a few fleeting weeks (it comes out at the end of April), I'd have an idea about how I'd imagine it before the movie wiped all those images away with special effects and Hollywood stars.

This morning I had forty pages left, and was guite happy to read it picturing Freeman as Dent. Again, the guy's a slice of fried gold, yeah? With twenty pages left I figured I could go to work and then read the rest when I got home.

I checked out Amazon -- with all the online sales the Archive does on Amazon, it's like a third store -- and saw the new trailer being debuted. Impulse clicked the mouse, and what did I find? Well, Mos Def and Sam Rockwell. They're actually good choices, but...well...not as cool as the people I cast in my head.

The endless search for useless knowledge.

Here are some of the sites I've been nutty about lately. Or, if you'd rather, three reasons why I never get anything done.

Boing Boing -- A Directory of Wonderful Things
How Stuff Works

Dirk Benedict Central

I tell you, when it comes to coolness, the five year-old Tim would've taken Starbuck over Han Solo in a -- please forgive me -- half a centaun. Posted by Hello

Geva Comedy Improv Frequent Flier Miles....

I think we should institute a punch-card system where fans can prove their devotion to GCI. After so many trips to the Nextstage, they can win prizes including:

- a haircut by Paul
- poetry from Longfellow read over the phone by Brian Doran
- a piggyback ride from Adam to work
- a towel once used by Brian Daniels
- Excalibur
and so forth....

GCI infiltrates SUNY Brockport

A special ops team from Geva Comedy Improv has been given the fantastic opportunity to teach improv to the lads and lasses of the State University of New York at Brockport. During the spring '05 semester, the small but hardy class will be learning the ins and outs of narrative improv, the philosophies of theatre sports guru Keith Johnstone, and the ever-popular skill of "motormouth." Cool? You bet.

GCI's SHAWNDA interviews Brockport Communications Major JJ, who happens to know lots about astronomy. And how you can explain all that cosmos through ice cream. Posted by Hello
